Care UK has recently been awarded an Ofsted “Good (Grade 2)” inspection rating for their current provision of Health and Social Care and Skills for Life training. ThirdForce has worked with Care UK for a number of years to deliver their Skills for Life programme and their NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care. All learners are adults employed by Care UK and work in residential homes or deliver care services in the community.
ThirdForce has long understood the unique benefits of our blended provision with e-learning, e-portfolios and a team of dedicated Learning Support Managers and NVQ Assessors Health and Social Care Officials.
Ofsted Report Highlights
- “Outcomes for learners are good. They have improved significantly since the last inspection. Success rates on the health and social care NVQ programme are high. In 2008/09, the completion rate was 84% and completion within the agreed time was 57%. In-year success rates are good and improving with a current completion rate of 93%. Learners on programme are making good progress.”
- “Learners make good advances in their information technology skills using electronic learning programmes and electronic portfolios. This has enabled some learners to overcome their fear of technology and increase their confidence to learn new skills.”
- “Good support from managers and assessors enables learners to achieve their learning goals.”
- Skills for Life Official Ofsted Report Highlights
- “Success rates are high. In 2008/09, 86% of skills for life learners were successful. The achievement rate for current learners on programme is 100%. Since the last inspection the proportion of learners completing their literacy and numeracy qualifications within the agreed time has also improved.. Progression to NVQ level 2 in care is high.”
- “Learners develop good personal and employability skills. Learners have increased their self-esteem, are more confident in carrying out their work roles and in completing clients’ records and reports. Managers have noticed an improvement in learners’ performance because of their skills for life programme.”
