Anytime, Anywhere Learning with the el-box™
Convenience and accessibility are the key benefits of e-learning. It enables you to deliver in-house, on the job training courses eliminating the inconvenience and cost of sending learners to off-site classroom based courses.
Many organisations are challenged with working environments that have little or no existing e-learning infrastructure and therefore struggle to offer on-site training – examples include pubs, restaurants, leisure outlets, hotels and care homes. The el-box is a great way to overcome this challenge as all the courses are pre-installed and can be accessed by many learners at different times throughout the working day.
The el-box™ is a tablet PC, similar in size to a standard laptop, but with a touch sensitive, flip-top screen and more rugged design to enable them to stand up to the rough and tumble of the typical operating environment. They are great for learners with little or no previous computer experience – the touch screen means that course navigation is simple and intuitive, and no keyboard skills are required.
Typical el-box™ usage would involve many learners accessing the courses at different times of the day. At the end of the day the learner training records that have been generated can be synchronised with the online learning database. This data can then be interrogated at a group level via the reports facilities in the management system, which is essential for demonstrating compliance with training needs.
El-boxes™ are in use at many leading hospitality, hotel and care home organisations and are proven to deliver cost effective access to e-learning courses.
ThirdForce el-boxes™ are based on the Toshiba M700 Portege range, and these have been selected for their:
- Cost effectiveness
- Robustness
- Ease of use
- Reliability
- Class-leading warranty
- Advanced 5th generation tablet design
"It's very easy to use and we've found that once a trainer has shown people the basics they are quite happy to work through the package on their own. "
