CIS – Common Induction Standards Course

Common Induction Standards is an elearning course that delivers the training required under the Common Induction Standards (CIS) from Skills for Care. It is aimed at all new adult social care workers in a residential, domiciliary or specialist area environment.

 The award must be completed within 12 weeks of employment, compliance for which is inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Common Induction Standards meets all Skills for Care learning outcomes.

  • CIS is aimed at people entering social care and those changing roles or employers within adult social care.
  • CIS covers the areas that care worker need to know about before they can work unsupervised

Course Contents

The CIS elearning course is divided into 9 modules, covering the 8 Common Induction Standards and an extra module on First Aid. Course duration is approximately 8hrs and requires no prior knowledge of the care sector or of IT skills.
