Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care
The Health and Social Care level 2 and 3 diplomas on the new qualifications and credit framework (QCF) replace the Health and Social Care (HSC) NVQs level 2 and 3.
The new qualification is designed for anyone who works with people to support and assist them with physical or emotional care, daily living needs or maintaining their independence. The Health and Social Care Diploma is the natural training progression from the Common Induction Standards (CIS) elearning course.

What’s Involved?
The diplomas are made up of nine mandatory units and a range of optional units. The mandatory units are very closely aligned to the learning covered by new workers in the Common Induction Standards (CIS) and the aim is for learners from any part of the sector to complete these standards and contextualise their learning to their service/job role. There are options to take a generic HSC Diploma or a specialist dementia or learning disability pathway, which allows learners to further tailor their learning to their job role.
The Knowledge based elements of the Diploma centre on the MindLeaders portfolio of Care elearning courses including: Common Induction Standards, SoVA etc. which once passed can be evidenced as Recognised Prior Learning. Knowledge-based units are also assessed through multiple-choice tests and on-line tasks deployed to learners through the e-portfolio.
