ITQ Support Resources from ThirdForce
ITQ is a new UK qualification aimed at anyone who uses IT in their job. It is a flexible qualification designed to build on a learner’s existing IT skills and qualifications in the workplace, whilst also encouraging new learning at a comfortable pace.
ECDL and CLAiT Plus are contributory qualifications towards ITQ. Learners can choose a number of ECDL modules and/or CLAiT Plus units from ThirdForce as part of their ITQ qualification.

- Greatly simplifies paperwork Using our automated test to assess the optional units removes arduous paperwork such as the Personal Statements and other forms of self-assessment.
- Reduces tutor retraining ECDL tests will continue to be managed in the standard manner which reduces the amount of retraining required.
- Reduces stress for learners and Assessors Assessors tell us that there is currently a lack of clear ITQ assessment criteria. As a result, efforts can be devoted to a decoding exercise rather than a learning one. With ThirdForce’s courseware and automated tests, the subjectivity is removed as everything is clear and ‘decoded’.
- Faster route to completion A good method of providing evidence for the Optional units is through a validated contributory qualification and Accreditation of Prior Achievement (APA). Hence, your learners can gain exemptions for the ECDL modules already completed.
- Ideal for learners who are not currently in employment Contributory qualifications such as ECDL can be taken during the period of time that the learner is seeking work. The Mandatory unit (which has to be taken as an assessment within the workplace) could be subsequently taken once the learner is in employment.
