Cellar Management is an induction level course for new bar staff in restaurants, pubs, bars, hotels and other hospitality premises. Its main aim is to give learners the awareness, knowledge and confidence they need to do their new job safely and to a high standard; it is equivalent to a 3-hour workshop.

It provides essential underpinning knowledge for bar service staff handling beer, explaining how, why and when to perform which tasks in the cellar to achieve the ‘perfect pint’ at the bar. Cellar Management also includes detailed descriptions of essential working practices for example, how to prepare for and accept beer deliveries, how to tap casks or how to change a keg coupler.

Course Contents

Cellar Management is divided into 5 modules. Course duration is around 1.5 - 3 hours and requires no prior knowledge of cellar management or IT skills.
